i'd agree with that, but cloud cuckoo really stood out for me. it took me a while to remember the names for all the other tracks but CC for me was one of those rare tunes that makes you stop everything & think "holy what the is this?".. still love it & the chable remix is up there with it too :) |

The one thing about Airdrawndagger that really gets me is the amount of negative reviews it got on release.
Most people who bought the album love it, but I've read a lot of reviews that seem to criticize it based on expectations of what it should be... I'm not sure what people expected from Sasha at the time.
Not that it affects my enjoyment of it in any way, but the mixed critical reception it got really surprised me.
@PETRAN: Good list that, a few artists there I'll have to check out, but Airdrawndagger is easily as good as the albums you listed (at least the ones I recognize).
It's one of those albums that really stands the test of time and still sounds utterly unique, which is the mark of a great album, imo. |

I think it's mostly because it really needs several listens before it "opens up". I remember when I first heard it - I didn't like it at all and now it's one of my all time favourites. |

You think? The first time I heard it, it made a massive impression on me, I remember thinking "What is this?!" :eyes: (First heard it on good old pirate radio :) ) |

An album of Xpanders.. that'd be pretty sick, but then, Bloodlock, that was a track with some proper twisted basslines that would appeal to all the dance heads.
I guess there wasn't that much mixing potential there either, until the Chable did his thing with Cloud Cuckoo and Bloodlock.
Me, I had to get used to his underground prog mixes after getting to think Sasha was all about trance/electronica. |
