i have to live in america for a year. i dont want to have to listen to for a year, i.e. drum n bass, r'n'b or house.

The only way you can hear EDM in the United States is by going clubbing. Its not like Europe where they play trance on the radio. There is absolutely nothing of that sort here in the US.

If you do go clubbing though, we still get the same DJ's you get in every other country, so I don't know what you mean by that. Its just not as actively attended or noticed by most people here.

I agree that Miami is one of our few 'hotspots' when it comes to trance.

*On a side note I'm gonna be in Ireland for the remainder of the summer, so its like worlds colliding.

Unless it's Philadephia, Pennsylvania, you're ed for ANY edm, even house. Boston has some trance, I believe Texas has a fairly good scene, most of the TAs from Chicago don't seem to be that into trance, so I'm not sure what the scene there is like.

if you had a clue. Warehouse party in Philly this Friday is going to be absolutely amazing, just like every other one. Sure Philly isn't great for your typical trance scene if you wanna see Armin or Sasha but the underground EDM scene is great!

You need to learn to read. I said UNLESS you live in Philly, you're ed. As in, if you live in Pittsburgh, State College, Harrisburg, Erie, etc, you're screwed if you expect an EDM scene.

Philly was the exception, which you'd have understood if you actually read and processed my comment.

I like it. I listen to a lot of different genres, and the size of NYC allows for events of all types. There's 4 megaclubs that play EDM here, and a lot of smaller clubs. It's more house than trance, but trance is still found a lot here. The techno scene also has a good sized following. Breaks and DnB events are less frequent, at least for what I'm aware. We get Armin and PvD usually 3-4 times a year. Ferry Corsten had a monthly residency from Oct '05 - March '06. Tiesto is also around a lot, though I don't go to see him.
