I just finally got the chance to listen to this all the way through, and I was extremely impressed. If you like Techno at all, check this compilation out. There hasn't been a compilation since Danny Howells' GU that I've liked this much.
It's interesting how techno compilations are different than a lot of house/prog cd's in more than just the sound of the music. In techno, sure an individual song may be great but there's more emphasis it seems on slow progression and buildup rather than the faster builds and some filler centered around a few unbelievably kickass songs that prog uses.
Damnit, I need to quit my job so I can get back into DJ'ing more often. But then, I need my job so I'll have money for records and equipment. . |

Good to know you're opening up to new stuff. Unlike Tiefschwarz, who are very good. Matthew Dear pulled out an amazing set for Fabric, still nothing compared to seeing that guy perform live, but still quite impress for the Texas Native, techno meister.
If you want to check other albums while you're at it. Check out the new Ivan Smagghe and Dj Chloe (not the one from progressive-sounds), they have just released a new mix for "Kill the Dj" called Dysfunctional family.
Here take a look

heh I've always been open to new stuff, haven't you seen me slamming trance recently? Not to say that I hate the old, but you've gotta keep it interesting.
I also got the Matthew Dear fabric cd but haven't gotten to listen yet. good to hear that it's up to par. The several fabric comps previous to it were just awful, in my opinion, but they seem to be taking a turn for the better. I need to catch up on the Evin Nine comp too.
So yeah, I'm liking the techno/tech-y turn things are taking. I took a step back when I realized that the stuff I think of as more "prog" now I probably would have thought of as "tech" last year. I still love a good prog house tune, and I'll never decide not to like something just because of genre (the ear never lies), but this new trend is keeping things interesting. |

| Yeah the whole prog/techno thing is weird. If I post a mix and tell people it is prog they tell me it is techno. If I tell people it is techno they tell me it is prog, so I've stopped labeling my mixes with genres. |

A friend says that Trance is on its way up again, I always tell him that tracks nowadays are not exactly "Trance" a.k.a Traffic... You got blends of Trance in prog, minimal whatever... |
