cingular + lg + g

my service provider is cingular.
i have an lg phone.
usually it has a normal connection, and the icon is like a signal.
when its in roaming i guess it shows a "r".
well people calling me are getting sent straight to voicemail.
the icon on my phone says "g."
what the does this mean ??

ive got cingular and an lg. the only time i have ever seen a 'g' on the status thing or whatever of my phone is when i go online, the 'g' on my phone is displayed when im using a gprs connection

My work phone also displays a 'G' when I'm on GPRS. It's not an LG phone, though.

Did a brief google search and it does indeed sound like G indicates that a GPRS connection is currently active.

why does it send people straight to voicemail.
its been like this since thurs nite.
i had to drive up to georgia fir the night.
it was in roaming.
i was waiting for my regular connection to get back so i can start making phone calls.
and it did eventually.
but now this godamn g is ing my up.
