Discover Dark return to the spotlight with their next release lined up and it is a pleasant surprise.

Infact, it's more than pleasant,it's ing gratifying.

Very minimal, merciless and pounding beats backed by sweet/melodic stabs with a goa-psy twist is the embodiment of Discover Dark and this release is no less.

Discover Dark continue to push the envelope and there's not many like that around at this moment.

Great label.

'Slaves To The Machine' is a great trancer with a dreamy almost guitar like break, dosnt sound a million miles away from 'Nailgun' but out of the two id have to plump for 'One Way Ticket' which has a hell of a kick and gotta love those vocal snippets and melodic bleeps.

Slaves To The Machine - 8/10
One Way Ticket - 9/10

Two edgy and tension filled trancers here, without any overly obvious riffs and supersaws. Sadly, like much of Discover's recent output, both tracks suffer from weak structuring, with some unnecessary breakdowns that spoil all the tension that gets built up.

A good direction for trance to take either way, looking forward to the collab between Nick Sentience and John Askew now.

discover FTW! an awesome label with quality written all over the majority of it's releases. will check this one out and probably buy it like all the others...

Not the best release from Discover Dark but it's still better than 90% of the trance out there IMO. 'One Way Ticket' is my pick of the EP although, TBH, I'd expected a little more from a collaboration between O'Callaghan & Downey. 'Slave To The Machine' is OK but lacks the energy to make me really like it. Looking forward to that Askew/Sentience collab though....
