Scanned through the link (sorry, on a break from studying so reading is a bit tiring)
All i'll say is that many Brits feel Blair is being pressurised to keep Anglo-American ties as strong as possible even though many of these things are not in our best interests as a nation.
Afgan war: I dont think that Brits were angry on a large scale about going to war in afganistan as we were rocked by 9/11 as well and were expecting London to be next so many Brits saw it as a necessary war.
Iraqi war: Many brits opposed going to war with Iraq, i think it was something like 60% (rough guesstimate) of our nation were against it.
For about 2 years the British public just wants out of Afganistan and Iraq and we dont want Bush to tell us when we can leave, we want Our PM to make Our decisions for Our country.
I dont usually post in PDD but i am expecting flames :happy2: |
