That thread popped up after I posted mine. It wasn't anywhere on the first page. We all know how good the search feature works on here too.
Plus, it's much easier to ask. ;)
So, wtf! |
Not to start, but that's not true. That thread didn't pop up after yours. You started this thread right before Vic's post in the other one, but people had been posting (therefore bumping) that thread all last night and it's been on page 1 pretty much since it's creation.
Yes, it's easier to ask, because you're having someone else do your work for you, which annoys the people that you're asking. Self-sufficiency should be the norm, as opposed to direct reliance on others. ;)
That said, the problem in this case is that the thread isn't really accurate, so look for updates or completely new threads with official info closer to the date. |

ziNG! The post police strikes again, beating the renegade poster on the buttocks with a baton - gently, yet firmly - to prevent further transgression! |

I didn't say anything until he said it wasn't on the first page before he posted, which was plainly not true. Vlad posted at 1 am last night in the running thread, he created this at 2 am. There weren't that many threads bumped between 1 and 2 am last night.
He might be the nicest guy in the world, but I'd have done the same even if it were someone I personally knew and was friends with just because I don't condone flat out fallacies. Same thing happened in the PvD thread with tranceyes the other night. I didn't disagree with her general statements, but when she started saying PvD is still playing 40% of the tracks that he did 2 years ago, I just can't let that go.
Maybe I'm  that way. |

Not intending to start any arguements, just want to pass on some stuff I have learned over the years, and actually been trained to do..
It is much easier to ask someone(s) for something they might know, rather then me (in this case) spending countless time to search for something:
1. I might find out about events that i could find on my own.
2. It's faster and more efficient, saving precious time that is not unlimited (at least in this dimension).
3. It may give someone great pleasure to help someone else out, leaving them with a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.
4. People who don't want to answer or take part in this inquiry, DONT HAVE TO, every single one of us is at choice. The only way you can be annoyed is by something this is triggering inside yourself. Generally when someone asks me for somethign I don't want to do, I don't do or say no. In this case, those not wanting to participate in this thread, could just ignore it and move on with there lives.
If everytime someone wants a car, should they start to build it themselves, with out any kind of help or past knowledge?
Just some food for thought and a look into how my brain is programmed.
;)
Cheers |

First, the thread in question didn't have to be searched for, as it was probably only 5 from the top. TA wasn't very busy last night
I disagree with #2 because it's only more efficient for YOU, not for everyone else, as it decreases the efficiency of those that already know.
#3 - I think most who know me, realize this doesn't apply.
#4 - Threads like this are the reason that the informative ones drop off the first page, because there's only so many that can fit on Page 1. If there's a bunch of duplicate threads, the helpful, unique ones get bumped off if they aren't replied to all the time.
Lastly, about the car.... you've got to be kidding me. You're comparing a complex project like building a car with doing your own research. Secondly, when someone builds you a car, you pay them for it, whereas you asked for information for free.
To be helpful, though, let me reiterate that from what I've heard, half the info in that thread is unconfirmed and some is just untrue, so be on the lookout for updates as we get closer.
No more responses from me. I had enough of this with the kid who started a whole thread on GU about me when I bitched him out for repeatedly starting threads on topics already in discussion/recently discussed. At least i was nice to you because you aren't a repeat offender like he was. |
