Are you talking just trance, like PvD, Ferry, Armin, Tiesto? If you are, not too many. Maybe George Acosta @ Spirit in 2004, JUST because I met barosoap. PvD @ Crobar on 4/15/05 was pretty good, too, minus the 1 1/2 hour break I had to take when I had to carry someone home.

I've usually had better nights at non-trance events, to be honest. It's not from a lack of going out, or a lack of appreciation for the music, as I still listen to a lot of trance sets at home, it's just that the other events were more fun. Too many trance events are full of kids who just got into EDM and think [insert DJ name like Armin, Tiesto, or PvD] is the greatest DJ of all times. It's almost as bad as the JP fans (almost, but not really quite that bad). I can say I've had better nights at a few Sasha events at different venues, John Digweed @ Spirit 9/2/05, and Sander Kleinenberg 01/01/05 to name a few.

That's quite a flame war he's stirring up over in Music Discussion - http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...1&pagenumber=4. I thought the hyperbole was bad in the post in here. That thread puts these opinions to shame in terms of ridiculous overstatements.

true true i see what you're saying, how much fun you have doesn't necissarily pend on who's djing, or what kinda pills you had, or the people you met, every night is different and has a different feel... unless you go to hiphop clubs, in which case every night has the feeling that you're gonna get shot! LOL

My favorite trance event to date?

That'd be Remy and Armin at Roxy on July 11th, 2003. The music, atmosphere, lighting, lasershow and people made this a magical night for me. However, you don't see me going and making a big statement such as "greatest trance event ever to be!!11". Too bold.

tru tru, but eh i had lots fun there, plus it was my birthday celebration so that was even better, and alot of the people i met there have been clubbing for 7 years and longer, and they all said that avb @ tobacco warehouse was one of the best.
Groundhog Boy
I didn't attend because I was out of town, but I'd be willing to bet there are people on here who thought that Ferry's gig @ Avalon on 10/24/04 (set recorded by DI.fm) was better than Armin's gig at Tobacco Warehouse.

That's great to hear that you had a spectacular time on your birthday. That's what life and these sort of events are all about.

Two gripes about what you're telling me now, though.

1) People could club for 7 years and see the same DJ over and over again without branching out to see what else the EDM/IDM scene is like. That doesn't say much, though.

2) Keyword: ONE of the best. Not only that but... what does it matter what they say? Trying to jump on a bandwagon? :p

Just to let you know, I enjoyed the 2-day event. I wouldn't mind attending again. I think I would have been happier if it took place later in August, though. I like the cooler weather.

The first week of August's looking like it's going to have the hottest days of the summer so far. :(
