I just bought an m-audio delta 44
And I've scoured the net trying to figure out how to hook it up to my mixer (numark DXM 06)
for basic recording of sets!!
Should i take it back and get a Iriver T30 1Gig. or a soundcard with rca's or a simple headphone jack?... our use those "balanced" things.
I have no fricking idea how to make this thing work!! Whats a TRS input/output
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
sorry if this topic has been done, i searched! |

use rca record outs on mixer to channel 1/2 on sound card. looks like the sound card takes 1/4 inch. so buy rca to 1/4 plug for the sound card. it should say if it takes balanced or unbalanced 1/4 inch |

Look on ebay. Hosa make some nice patch cables that are 8 ch. RCA To 1/4 TRS. Handy for connecting dj mixers. |

Hmmm, ok.
Am i safe to assume That a regular 1/8th to 1/4 adaptor is compatable as a TRS?
So i should have rca's from my "record" out on my mixer connected to a rca to 1/8 with a 1/4 adaptor on it?...
OR should i just go buy an all in one rca to 1/4 trs "y"cable like this guy ??http://www.axemusic.com/product.asp...=2866&PT_ID=all
IM reading that TRS is typically used for mono signals. Does that mean my mixes wont be done is stereo.... that really sucks
I also tried hooking up my computer speakers to the sound card via headphone jack with 1/4 adaptor and im only getting the left channel, how do i fix this?? |

Are not each of the I/Os on your soundcard pairs of mono?
TR is the correct one because it is tip ring. TR = Mono TRS = Stereo. TRS can also be for a balanced connection. |

haha, it turns out that i am infact retarded!! It turns out that each channel is mono so i have to run in two ins to get a stereo signal! all i needed was rca to 1/4 adaptor.... i feel dumb:sadgreen: |

get 2 1/4" TRS to TRS cables and go from your balanced out on your mixer directly into your soundcard
you'll get the best sound quality that way |
