Sad news my friends. Swedens longest running trancelabel, Spiral Trax have closed down. :(
It was home to some big acts such as Atmos, Vibrasphere, Human Blue, S>Range, Hux Flux etc.

Spiral Trax was one of John 00 Fleming's favourite labels and he describes the loss over at his board in the following way:

It's a real shame and an example of how filesharing is taking it's toll on the Small independent labels. It's almost becoming impossible for labels to continue to carry on releasing CD's or vinyl, they simply wont sell the units needed to survive. :(

Spiral Trax was one of the true underground trance labels which managed to survive the hard years when goa trance labels one after the other died. It focused on quality nordic trance and managed to put Swedish producers on the map.

A huge loss for the progressive and psytrance.

Yeah its terrible news :( Filesharing does more than people think, especially to the smaller labels. Download stores have helped, but still.

A great loss to the scene :(

Well, I don't think it's the filesharing ONLY. I think people moves on to other genres and buy that music. I have noticed how many tranceheads have turned into househeads lately and don't buy trance anymore. I think they are the biggest loss to the trance scene.

Labels die, artists and their music not

for as many trance fans turning into house (most of them are sheep anyway & follow whatever the person who sells them something somewhere tells them is cool) there's as many turning onto it.
