I've tried Cubans, too, but I still prefer these. I'm guessing top-of-the-line, $30 apiece Cubans are better than their Dominican counterparts, and that's where the reputation comes from, but for anything but those, I prefer the Dominican stuff.

The VSG's are damn hard to get ahold of (luckily, there's a shop by the school I go to that gets them in & holds a bunch of them for me whenever they get a shipment). The Hemingway Classics are supposedly pretty rare, too, but I've had a much easier time getting my hands on those. Apparently, Ashton doesn't even take orders. When they feel like selling shops cigars, they just give them a 'take it or leave it' offer without advance notice or anything, but they still sell 'em all anyways.

...if not those, Punch Grand Cru's are pretty good, a good bit less expensive, & a lot easier to find. Not bad, but nothing compares to the VSG's for me.

+1, screw them cubans, and i disagree with the top of the lines cubans being better than the top of the line dominicans, ive tried them both, the difference comes when u can buy an 100+ cigar, then the cubans are better, :wtf:

didn't even see the cigar talk in here. i've quit smoking cigarettes, but i'm a sucker for cigars.. sooo tasty.

my favs are definitely Cohibas (Dominican) and Romeo y Julietas.

I do find it funny that most 'cuban' cigars are rolled in the DR anyways :p
