Backup and reinstall system software. I do it every 6 months. It makes your computer last longer.

IMO, I think if you have your system defrag every night, have a moderate amount of diskspace free and have an installed virus protection, then you should be pretty set. Just don't go doing anything stupid. You should post this in the chill out forum lol although it's cool over here too. Now about the technical production aspect of defraggers...they could really use some music while you're defragging so that in case you're stuck around for a little, you can listen to some hot breakbeat or something :D

true, the fact that it takes such a long *ss time to clean up and defrag keeps me from doing it frequently. Maybe if the util would launch a litle loop based toy to play around and make up for production time lost ;)?
BTW: somebody told me you have to defrag the drives a couple of times in a row, for it to really be effective. Do you know if this is true? Does it also go for Disk Keeper?

Defrag every night? LoL. Unless your moving files around on your harddrive or installing programs or downloading gigs all day that's useless.
