View this Thread in Original format

Just got a newsletter from Image-line that FL Studio 6.1 beta is available for registered users.

New in 6.1 is the NEW advanced sampler "Edison" and "Love philter" that is a filter-bank + bug fixes and improvements (of course).

Also, many of the FL plugins are now being released as stand-alone VSTi's ready for use in other music applications.

Yeah, its pretty darn sweet. Haven`t noticed any bugs yet either.

Allthough it might take a while until i get used to the new startup-sound.

fruity keeps getting better and better. It's one of the better instrument/limited option/toy apps out there (cubase, reason, ableton, logic; as distinguished from protools, max, and sc3 which are limitless within the near future). It doesn't get nearly the respect it deserves. It's becoming an amazing app for throwing down ideas on a laptop. Fruity love philter is amazing. Edison's real buggy still, but has a lot of potential.

I hate the fact that FLS is seen as that 'entry application' or 'noob toy'..like i was at a msuic store talking about hardware [hkeyboreds etc], and the guy asked what i use, i told him FLS6, and he was like "I uh..well, well you will move onto bigger things like reason when you get expriense"..i got offended by that heh.

[oh btw, this is my first post hehe]

Well let me be the first to welcome you. WELCOME! :stongue:
What they guy said is pretty stupid since with reason you cant realy use vsts and such. I think reason is great and iv heard great stuff come from it but I dont see it as being a whole lot more open and free then fruity.

yeah, i know what you're saying. its all about the user behind the program, but just writing off FL as a kind of beginner tool is very ignorant...its no mtv music generator...many pros now use FL studio as their sequencers, and i'm sure it will continue in that path. i myself use fl studio and will continue to do so.

keeping on topic though, the new interface looks great, i'll have to update my copy sometime soon.

[second post here for me haha]

I dont care what people say, I love FL. Its really nice for throwing down ideas, the plugins you get default with the applications may not be top notch like logic pro tools but its still an amazing app if you actually put yourself to it and take it slow. I know MANY people who can actually get the same sound out of FL as they can with Logic. But on the go i still love logic on my mac, I would like to have FL on it aswell though FL was coded on Delphi so I dont think itd be possible unless with Boot Camp running Windows XP on a mac and FL.

Neither FL, Reason, Cubase, Ableton or Logic are toys.
I'd call Protools a toy, it doesn't even have decent MIDI support.
Please stop with the elitist attitude.
