online poker, do you?

I was just wondering how many of you guys (or gals) play online poker.

I've been doing it myself for a little while now, it's like a part-time job though, but I still have fun doing it.

What are your favorite sites and why? Hows the payout? Does anyone else do it more as a part-time job than for fun?

My favorite poker site is probably http://www.arcticpokerclub.com - I don't win an abnormal amount or anything like that, but they don't make you wait to cash out. All the really big names out there make you play an enormous amount of hands before you cash out. With this one I can deposit $50, get a 100% bonus, and withdraw the whole $100 if I wanted.

I'd like to find more like this if anyone is willing to share :)

I don't play it myself, but coincidently I was just reading about a dude's online poker win on another forum...he just won big-time! :eyes:

I used to play a lot. Started @ .10/.25 & worked up a bankroll to where I was playing 3/6 comfortably...but then I got greedy & lost it all :( ...so I haven't played in about 8 months.

i played at the lower limits with that the intention of doing that...moving up.

felt like it was a waste of time...never really made any money. so i waited until i could just make the deposit to over jump all of the smaller limits.

did you play limit or no limit? i play no limit cause i get so tired of up down up down up down...all day...doesn't seem like you get anywhere with limit unless you are getting great cards and great flops...

ALWAYS no-limit. I dabbled in some Omaha hi-lo, but mainly stuck to the NL Hold 'em. I don't know enough of the math to win @ limit with any consistency, but I'm pretty good at judging when & how to make big moves, so that's why I did it.

I found there was a BIG jump in the abilities of people once you went up past each limit...especially from 50/1 to 1/2. There were some dumb people playing 3/6, but it's so much, it's hard anyways.

i don't think the ability is that much greater...i just think people play closer to correct play. i mean you can still get paid of huge if you play deceptively people just think their top pair is the best hand. most of the regular people you see on there daily are smart, but still lots of idiots who just think big bets will take pots...

going to vegas next month to check out digweed and see some friends...might try a little bit there, but probably not too much.

Well, playing tighter generally means playing better (at least at these levels--when you're comparing playing 1/2 your hands to playing 1/8 of them). People don't care if they lose 4 times a $.25 blind, but if you make someone decide whether to call $24, they're not going to play nearly as much crap.

Never been to Vegas, but much prefer playing in person to online. Should be a good time.
