Alexi Delano

Alexi Delano has been heating up dance floors for the better part of 15 years. His soulful and exquisitely deep blend of techno and house has been featured on the likes of Svek, Poker Flat, Turbo Recordings, F-Comm, Plastic City, Harthouse, and his own labels, Test 542, Corner Shots, Random Dynamics and most recently, his AD Ltd. imprint. He's worked with some of the biggest names in the scene, including Cari Lekebusch John Selway, Adam Beyer, Jesper Dahlbäck Jori Hulkkonen, Darshan Jesrani, and Casey Hogan.

Born in Chile and raised in Sweden, Delano took to the turntables in the early 80's. At 15, he had his own radio show, and at 17 he was a resident DJ at one of Stockholm's first after-hours clubs, where he played 10 hour sets – and then headed on to school. By the mid-90's, Delano had relocated to New York, where he developed new monikers like ADNY for his deeper house music and G.O.L. and GIOVANI for the techier side of things. He also started two new labels, Corner Shots and Test 542, which became two of the most respected deep house labels on the circuit. In 2000, after releasing several successful full-length projects, Delano was approached by Tiga to produce an album. The result, ‘Selections 97-2000', on Turbo, is an rich collection of percussive and jazz inspired vocal house that stimulates the mind as much as it moves the body.

Now, in 2006, Delano keeps searching for new inspirations and ideas to re-shape the music that he loves. He's started a new label, AD Ltd., where he's begun to release a collection of deadly modern acid-house that's been taking global dance floors by storm. His new project with Jesper Dahlbäck, called ADJD, has released two EPs on Steve Bug's Poker Flat recordings to much fanfare, and a full-length album is ready for release later this year. Keep an ear out for his new releases on Harthouse Recordings and Richie Hawtin's Plus-8.

Mike Bryant

Mike began his DJ career in the mid-west, where he built a reputation for his blend of Chicago influenced House and Detroit Techno. In 1995, he made the move to New York, where his reputation grew and he started headlining New York's biggest and best clubs, and he began traveling the US and abroad to spin his now-signature blend of techno and house.

In 1998, Mike joined the Intergroove US distribution staff as a buyer and A&R consultant - helping to shape the growing techno and house sounds in the US. He launched his own imprint - Intrinsic Design Records. With 18 releases to date from some of the scene's most respected producers (including Fukhouse's own Noah Pred!), Intrinsic Design is now a staple techno/tech-house label, and is well respected throughout the world - with everyone from John Digweed to Steve Bug playing their releases. In 2003, Mike helped form a label and distribution company called Rhythmic Inc. As part owner, A&R, and buyer for the company, Mike continues push every aspect of underground dance music.

The first CD from Intrinsic Design was mixed by Mike Bryant. DJ Times writes: “ New York based Intrinsic Design has been a major player in the minimal techno and tech-house world since its formation in 1997. On this compilation, label boss Mike Bryant selects tracks from deeper edges of his back catalogue and combines them with several unreleased gems - with amazing results. Smooth basslines, lush keys and compelling rhythms cascade and grow as the mix bounds slowly and effortlessly forward. As a compilation of fantastic tracks from a top-class label, this disc just works. When you add Mike's skillful programming and silky blends, you have a disc that is sure stay in your CD changer for a long time to come. Exquisite.”

Bringing the best in techno and tech-house to Toronto since 1997, Fukhouse has always had a roving nature. From the now-legendary Industry nightclub, to Nasa dance pub, to System Soundbar and Footwork, Fukhouse has played host to a who's who of techno talent: Richie Hawtin, Felix da Housecat, ‘Evil' Eddie Richards, Rob Hood, Andrew Weatherall, Derrick May, Herbert, Jeff Mills, Mr. C, Dan Curtin, Funk D'Void, Aril Brikha, Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, Tiga, Daniel Bell, Matthew Dear, Mark Farina, Jesper Dahlback, and Frank Martiniq are just some of the names that have kept Toronto's techno fans deep in the best of it for nine years running.

We were delighted with our run at Footwork, but our wanderlust has gotten the better of us, and Fukhouse is returning to its roots with an old-school warehouse techno jam. Expect a return to the pre-Fukhouse days of Transcendance, where warehouses were rendered unrecognizable and walls of speakers fed hungry dancers.

On August 26th , Fukhouse brings tech/electro/house hero Alexi Delano (of ADNY, ADJD and Puente Latino fame) for his Toronto debut - accompanied by Intrinsic Design's Mike Bryant and backed up by locals Mario J, Noah Pred, Eric Downer and Ian Guthrie.
