spare keys don't do much good, at least not for me. i keep them at home, and if i lock my keys in my car i can't get into my house... not to mention i probably wouldn't be anywhere near home.

true. when I had a truck, I had a toolbox and I used to keep my spare in there cause I seemed to lock them in the cab quite often. came in handy numerous times.

well, yeah... i get that. but i'm wondering why they don't offer something like that now, in modern day, the 2000's. :p

Here's a cool trick...

If you lock your keys in your car and have keyless remote entry, and your extra set of keys are at home, you can phone the wife/girlfriend/roomate from your cell, you hold the cell to the car door, and have them push the unlock button, and it will unlock your car door.

indeed. but this time i didnt misplace them. plus the whole experience was somewhat thread-worthy. if omega_blue comes in and comments perhaps he can expand on the hilarity of the situation, such as some of the things the guy who unlocked our car for us said.

back in the day when you bought a new car they gave you a plastic key like in a credit card thing that you would need to punch it out. The plastic key would keep in your wallet and if you locked your keys in your car you go to your wallet and there is the plastic key to unlock your door.

Back in the day?

This is modern day and it rides in my wallet all the time

Back in December me and a few other were backing uphill out of a friends driveway, one of them was having trouble so i got out of my car to help her, and shut the door, thus locking my keys inside with the car running. We spent about an hour sticking different things in my door to get my car open, and eventually slid a wire hanger past the rubber in between the car and the door to hit the unlock button.

oh .

the funny thing is we were discussing why i don't smoke weed anymore.. "you always forget random , paranoia, anxiety, etc" so they end up reefing anyways. things are good.. checkin out the house.. d-res trips on the steps on the way up to the house.

"smooth, dude"
"yeah, you know what's even more smooth? i think i locked my keys in the car"

one hour later the locksmith comes and says "You guys wouldn't have these problems if ya didn't smoke WEED. i can SMELL it."

in classic. i don't know how people can unlock their cars with a coat hanger though :conf: we tried for at least... five minutes or so.
