If its a robin, it looks really young. Perhaps thats why its tame?

Yeah its definatly one of this years. Hes just lost his baby feathers. Looks a bit of a wreck :D Him and his brother are now fighting for territory. I think they've both chased their father off at this stage.

24 or 25 celcius I think. Picture was taken at around 6pm, so the lighting probobly makes it look hotter. Ireland + heatwave = rare, so its hardly ever like this.

omg, that is the cutest little thing ever! i'm jealous. i wish a cute little bird would eat out of my hand like that.

i dont know why, but i have always been very into watching birds...i think those hiking trips with my dad and his bird book and binoculars (dorky, i know) really rubbed off me, lol.

i always notice birds and what kind they are. we have wild parrots in miami and i can always tell when they're around because they have a very loud "squawking" type of noise and when i'm walking the dog in the morning i watch them fly around, being loud from tree to tree. or i'll notice a blue jay just sitting there on a tree...this is all usually when i'm walking the dog. i'm always looking around for birds for some reason. i'm a closet bird watcher geek.

:toothless

Yeah you gotta spend a bit of time taming it :D Apparently its a thing in England and Ireland only that makes Robins so tame. Anywhere else in Europe and they're supposed to be quite shy.

Worst part about birdwatching is when you see one you dont recognise and you waste a full hour pouring through bird books trying to find out what the damn thing is :D

Funny thing is how light they are. If hes sitting on my hand I dont even realise hes there. They only weigh about 20 grams as adults. Baby ones can weigh as little as 1gram when they're first hatched, about the same as a paper clip :nervous:

You are one lucky guy. Check out again tomorrow same time; maybe he will come back; you can pet him; like he comes in daily for that meal.

haha yeah this is a daily thing now.. quite often when I come downstairs hes waiting outside the door for me. I just kept forgetting the camera. I went out there earlier today and sat down on the step. He just sat next to me for about 5 minutes and settled down.
