movie discussion
I'm going to see The Descent tonight at midnight for its opening show. Hopefully it'll be a full crowd as opening midnight shows are a blast with out people ooing and ahhing with you. Anyone seen this? I hear its a fantastic psych/horror movie with special cameos from Gollum from the LoTR series. (actually i hear, the gollums are the downers the movie). It's the Lions Gate cut, which has a highly debatable ending change that goes from the interpretations of wishful, to desperate, to OMG wtf. Plus it comes with the trailer for Saw 3, which i love the series to death. |

The flick is actually getting some really good reviews. I might check it out in the near future.
As for Saw III?
Ugh. Should have stopped after the first one. |

Nah, they just should've made II better. It needed a sequel, though. |

wow, this was a in fantastic horror movie. Not to mention i felt it seemed to veery into a depiction of de-humanization (or is it decivilization?). They start out with all this mountain gear, prepared and their advantage of the night-vision camera. Then they are reduced to nothing and then, that same bone that depicted evolution and technology in 2001: A space oddessy, is used to show the animal that still lies in us. At the end with all the eye gouging, crotch kicking and overall brutality (and i swear i saw that lady bite that monsters neck), it showed how they became no different that the animals that were after them. Did a much better job than that POS The Hills Have Eyes.
, this movie was brutal. Blood and gore all over the place. When Holly fell down that hole and you could see the ING bone through the pants and then they ING tore the pants so you see the leg and then they ING put the bone back inside! |

| The only really scary part i found in the trailer was the night vision effect, of the girl and she doesnt know behind her is the zombie like all deformed. scary beans. |

| The UK version has a much better ending than the U.S. version that was released today. |

haven't seen the UK version. But i know what it is.
I think the US ending is better. She gets to live on, but must live with the fact that someone's life is left on her bloody hands. (juno was a ghost)
I like the UK ending as well, but I just think the US version is the better of the two |
