I think that is great, and if I ever choose to have children, I will breast feed wherever the hell I like, even if it is in the middle of a busy street. Baby has got to eat, and people should get over their moronic fears of the human body and its natural functions.
However, I wouldn't think it appropriate for people to be taking photos of me, or video taping it. I would feel very uncomfortable if someone sat down and watched.
It shouldn't be a flippin' peep show for other people, and I think that should be respected.
And yes, it is a western culture thing. We have social stigmas attached to sexuality. We, as a culture, have made intimacy something dirty, and mass disturbing violence seems to be normal. The Eastern cultures, in my opinion, have it the way it should be. Violence isn't a predominant feature in their media, and they seem to have accepted sexuality to be a normal, good, clean and decent thing. |
