| I try not to get my news its boring and depressing. I don't care who killed who. When I log on I look at the day's headline on my yahoo page. If anything strikes my fancy i click on it. |

Back when I lived at home and had access to cable tv I'd use the TV soely to watch CNN, C-SPAN, BBC News, NHK Japan World News, India's World News, and yes ... even ABC World News. All of them, especially the international ones really kept me up on things. In watching news broadcasted by other countries you get to see just how much is omitted from American news about everything going on. I hate to say that TV was my main source of news but with all of those stations it was a pretty decent source.
Now that I'm on my own and with no cable tv all I have are the local newspapers, which are extremely sensationalist and barely pass as tabloids, with the exception of the New York Times. Most local TV news is pretty much garbage as well. The news here in NYC is also quite different from the news in other states. Quite a bit has gone on here in the past that never seemed to have gotten out to the rest of the US. *shrugs*
I get a bunch of my news now from discussions with people I work with, mainly grad students who keep on top of things. The internet helps as well. |

| I dont like television media, they tell you the 'story behind the news'; in other words they try to put word in your mouth... give me plain news and let me decide. |

true that! Cause everyone knows the president is always right so if a news channel only shows his side that means they are always right!
