I think when we say "converting" our friends to trance I think it just means, well for me anyway, just playing them the best trance you have while in your car/house in hopes they will start to like it too. It's really just a figure of speech and not meant as trying to force others to like trance - I don't think anyone actually tries to force or push anyone into it.
I've noticed that as I've gotten into trance more over the past 2 yrs, some distance has been put between me and a couple of my friends.
And I am totally fine with that. |

to me personally, edm, trance in particular, is the best genre. After listening to so much trance since 99', there's some music out there that I just can't stand to listen to. |

yeah I know what you mean. My good friend really likes EDM I don't know if it was me specifically that got him in to EDM, but I played a big part. |

Really though, a lot of it is really ty music that you can only really get into if you are just odd and like it, or you do massive loads of drugs. Kinda says a lot about music if you can't enjoy it sober. |

| I had a friend in middle school whom I met because we both enjoyed the X-Files a lot, and stuff similar to it. When we reached high school, he was really into rap, and was obsessed with Eminem. He was one of those kid dying his hair blonde and wanting to be Eminem (scary). I thought that was silly, and then I was into electronic music. It wasn't that I thought "my music was better than his" but the whole fascination with Eminem and trying to be like him, was really silly and stupid...immature. |

I don't think its a good idea so 'convert' some of your friends into Trance addicts. How would you like it if your mates tried to convert you into a Hip Hop head? I would get well annoyed.
None of my mates like trance, and its annoying as hell. I've missed out on loads of parties and trance nights because of this. :(
But I've still had plenty of good nights of clubbing, so its not all doom and gloom. |

| I don't see why everyone wants to "convert" people to listen to EDM. I listen to everything, and most of my friends do, too. And, frankly, if you play Trance for your friends who are new to EDM (outside of cheese on the radio) they will hate it. House is where it's at. And if you have any stoner friends, they seem to be into the DnB as well. |

i dont actually try "convert" them, just lack of a better word, but i play my top songs for em, and dont play things too far fetched that they might be like, this is weird
im new to the trance/house scene and im just now starting to listen to breaks and stuff, and my friends who are into trance and house are now coming to me to hear the other stuff (so i guess i converted them well :whip: )
also djkoolaide, my friends r pretty close to stoners, so im sure they + me would love drum n bass
can u recomend a few good tracks?
drum and bass is what i want to start listening to next, i have yet to vibe to a good set or a few tracks of it |
