im looking for a cell phone to replace my breaking old one. what ive got now is the samsung x427m. its treated me well but its falling apart.
so whats new in the world of cellies? jees its been a while...
if you guys want to help me shop around or can recommend some jacks thatd be great. my price range is $100 or less.
let this thread continue as a cell roll call.

Unfortunately that's pretty much always the case with new phones: if you want a good deal, you need to stick to a contract for at least a year.
Why do you need a new phone? Is it no longer working, or are you just tired of carrying around the oldest cell phone on the block? |

I'm in the same situation. I have Cingular now, but the coverage sucks and the plan is nothing to write home about. I was really interested in some sort of PDA-type deal, but it seems that short of buying one of the Sony ones (P800,900,910a) off Ebay, there's nothing with a battery that is anything close to acceptable--looked at the Motorola Q, but read that it really only gets about 14 or 15 hours on a charge with regular talking mixed in, and that if you actually want to use the EV-DO, it drains it in about an hour (WTF!!!).
Basically, now, I'm lookin at other options. Probably some sort of multimedia thing. Want something with good battery life, & that plays music. Everything else is kind of secondary. Something under $200, probably. I'm probably going to go with either Sprint or Verizon, just 'cuz of the CDMA coverage. |

| i don't know too much about cell phones, but CompUSA has sales every week for cell phones + upgrade/activation for usually no more than $30. We have cingular now, so we got those gay razrs and slvrs or whatever is hot with all the COOL kids these days |

| I have the same model. Samsung X427. Got it free on a 2 year contract with Cingular. The contract ends this month. And I'm graduating as well. Will probably look for a new deal and a better phone, once I get a job :tongue2 |
