Mandatory anual "homey, don't play that!" thread for PvD@CP

So looks like PvD @ CP time is upon us. With that comes this (yet unofficial) anti-request list. E.g. it's a list of songs you DON'T WANT to hear PvD spin - as they are worn out, suck, or plain don't work in a set.

Dear Paul,

You're my electronic music Santa. You bring the gift of music but lately it begins to look like a gift that was bought at a thrift store and you were trying to save some money. There are some choons that are plain annoying, crappy, or otherwise not worthy of your attention and our listening time. So, with that said, here's my "homey, please don't play that" list. My list is relatively short:

1. Please limit techno/heavy sh!t you tend to throw as fillers in your sets. I'd appreciate it if you for once abandoned your NYC=play heavy, sensless crap that can't be distinguished and is just one long conglameration of various drum kits.

2. Take the "other side" track and crush it, grind it to dust and set it on fire. Please - that song is ty to begin with and you've been canning it for as long as... well, longer than I care to remember.

3. "Time of our lives" should befall the same fate as "other side" - dude, that song is played out as well.

4. Columbia - not only it's a commercially used track but it sucks too (sorry, but it does. with all due respect, of course).

That's pretty much it for now. Rock on.

Oh, and please see to it that we don't get a monsoon-like rain that we got few years ago.

Thank you Pauly. :)

Your (mostly devoted) fan.

lmao i was gonna make a thread like this like a week before the event but you beat me to it
i was gonna pretty much post the same stuff
not too much heavy tech espeically early in the night
like i would perfer if he played alot more epic/ eupohric stuff up until maybe 8:30 then after that he can bang it out with techy stuff
and if he closes with time of our lives followed by other side and then for an angel i think iam gonna throw some eggs or somethin at him lol

I did intentionally withheld "For an Angel" - as it's been a bit nostalgic and with proper amount of booze in your system can be tollerated. Bet on someone whipping out a big ass sign "For an angel" and expect pvd to play it. Like it or not but it it will be played as sure as bathroom lines are going to be long and as bathrooms will be vomit//piss covered.

I'm actually pondering selling my tickets as my spidey senses are telling me this will be another sub-par PvD appearance.

I think in order to catch a good PvD show, you have to see him outside of NYC. He always plays the heaviest, most crappy, techiest sets in NYC. , I think Mauro Piccoto is DJ Sammy in comparison to PvD lately.

Well, someone has to :tongue3

I don't mind it if it is good. However, most of the tech stuff PvD spun at Roseland Ballroom plain SUCKED.

back on topic, you lot! :whip:

wow thank god we have this thread, listen im taking a long drive next week, and would like to invite all of you to sit in my back seat, if you get my drift. Im sure PVD is thankful to have this plethra of talent, typing on their computers, on how he should arrange his sets and what sons he should play. In fact I heard PVD is turning the show into all request so your opinion does count, keep on posting

Sigh, another rambling idiot.

ReenTeen, there should be ALOT more DJs retiring before PvD even thinks about it. i.e. Jokenfold.

I really dont have any requests of tracks to not play because the PvD classics and commercial stuff will get played. I just dont want him to play fluff - that is my only request.
