Ok ive had enough f windows and PC's, great cheap bargains let snot complain at that. I will keep my PC which is great and i spent a lot on it.

This si the plan:

I buy a new Apple Mac G5 and use it for everything including internet apart from music production. but are they any good? or should i just buy a G4?

I keep my PC and use that for Music Pordcution ONLY, susely Windows XP cant up then? I buy the new 64-bit platform, but is this any good?

On the whole that's a yes..

I run both though.

The Intel mac Mini is pretty special given it's price point and the fact you can seriously upgrade the cpu in it. The G5s give you slots, and compatability with the old world (ie Cubase SX no worky under intel macs.. yet), and admittedly more CPU but at the cost of being old tech with a guaranteed limited lifespan.

Personally if you are wanting to go mac, then unless you have pantloads of cash the mini really is the way to go for 90% of people..

Y would the G5 (old one) have limited life spam? i have aG3 and it still works fine.

He just means that since Apple has transitioned to Intel, that the power PC machines are phased out.

Apple will obviously support the Power PC machines for quite a while, but you have to wonder whether third party SW vendors will.
