A US store is selling The Stanton C.303 cd player for $150! I'm not looking to buy it, but I wonder how good is it. I've read some good reviews about their TTs.

Speaking of Stanton CDJs, does anyone have any experience with the Stanton C.314? I'm looking into getting a pair, but I wouldn't mind some first hand reports about it :D

I used a 304 this one time for maybe an hour or two. Personally, I hated the thing. It felt cheap, dodgy and inaccurate. I find the screen to be oddly shaped too.

Aside from this one I used spinning @ a Lounge, I have never encountered them in a club or in many bedroom setups. I say, if you want quality CD decks that won't break the bank, go Denon S-1000s.

This is a personal opinion, and I love many Stanton products (before their stuff all began to look like cheap plastic toys)... my bedroom setup mixer is an RM-3, and I have spent many enjoyable hours on my friends ST-100s.

Hmm, that's what I feared :( Would the Stanton M.304 mixer be of better quality than their CDJs? I'm thinking for the same price as the C.314s, there's the Pioneer CDJ-200 and the Denon S-1000, which one would be the better choice, since they're all the same price?

The CDJ-1000s feel like cheap POS's too but they are the favorite among many DJ's... I own a pair and the only reason I havnt had an accident with them is because I knew if i dropped them they would shatter into 1 million pieces lol.

Have you tried the C.314 yet tho? THose havnet even been shipped so im thinking about picking one up for a 3rd device...U say the 304 or whatever FELT cheap but how did the jog dial feel etc...pitch bend etc. etc.

The reason the C.314 interests me is because it's only 399$ with the same features as the 1000MK3 AND some...such as scratching (exactly like the cdj 1000) effects, 500 cue points and loops ONBOARD (you dont have to buy a darn SDCARD for them) all for $800 LESS than the CDJ-1000s. SO...i think at the very least it'll be worth a play.

Ahh, finally someone else looking into gettin some C.314! :D I really do hope they're good because they seem to be a great bang for the buck and like you mentioned, 800$ less than CDJ-1000s.

i bet the pitch resolution is 0,1% though ;)

I don't know, I have CDJ-1000's, and played around with the 304 in the store (granted they were turned off, which is a useless comparison I know)...

But to me the thing felt pretty solid, and it's gotten reviews comparable to things like the DN-S1000.

For $150 though, you can pick up a pair and not feel bad about whatever you decide later :)

i have owned a c304 and have played on numerous decks including the cdj-1000 and the cdj-1000mk2...the platter on the c304 feels more solid than that on the cdj and is also noticebly heavier. Unfortunately the cue mark display is pretty too small to even use and your pitch is limited to .1%. If you have any questions, just ask...ill be happy to answer them the best i can.

For someone starting out DJing with their first hardware setup, would you say the C.304 or maybe even the C.314 that's coming out soon would be a good set of CD players to start up with? I was thinking of waiting a little longer and getting the C.314 that's coming out soon instead of the 304 since it seems to have alot more features and its the same price as a CDJ-200 or Denon S-1000.

I don’t see any reason for getting any of these C series CD players over CDJ200 unless you really want scratching which most of us don’t, or if your style of mixing really requires a few cue points and reloops. CDJ200s 0.02% PS makes it up for all that. I cannot comment on C314's effects since I have never used it but I’m sure it’s nicer to get a good mixer with efx and sample sequencer. Also Stanton's cd players don’t have slot loading.
