Lucas - try throwing an ad up on craigslist.org to see if maybe you can find someone who will sublease it. you might get lucky.
otherwise, is there any way you can make up some sort of story and tell them you have to break your lease? i've never broken a lease before so i don't know if it's better or worse than getting evicted. you might want to read through your lease just to figure out what the best option might be.
oh, and if you're gonna throw wild parties... don't forget to invite us. |

or you could explain the situation to your landlord and see if they will cut your lease short

Start a Cult and continously invite your landlord to come to your meetings.
Keep on asking them to they know where you could get cocaine, heroin etc. |

advertise your apt. for rent on craigslist and get someone to live there and pay rent, but don't tell the apt. complex people. if it's a big enough complex (as opposed to renting a condo from a landlord who makes frequent visits to you), they shouldn't even notice.
then, u get ur rent paid (assuming the person who starts renting it out is responsible) and u get to move out.
u might even be able to make some money off it and advertise the apt. for $50 more than u are paying and u can pocket that each month. |

but what if the person who is living there starts doing illegal , wouldn't you be held responsible for that. |

yes, and that's a risk you take when u do something like that. try to rent it out to an older lady or something as opposed to a 20 something year old single guy who works at a pizza place...or to a single mom or something...i dunno. but just use your judgment when pulling a stunt like that.
or u can just level with your landlord. be honest with him and see what he says. u never know. by letting u out of your lease, he can advertise it again for more money AND he'll get another deposit...so maybe he can work something out with u, because it'll kind of be like a win/win situation. |

I think the easiest is.. to just stop paying your rent, no?
would you be responsible for the years rent..? What makes it any differt if they kick you out for causing trouble compared to kicking you out for not paying rent. Both ways you are breaking your lease early and they have to find new tenants. |

ahh, craigslist, good idea :)
i already told them my situation and they really could care less. if i don't pay rent and they evict me, i'll still be responsible for rent for the rest of the year. if i do something to make them evict me, i'm not responsible for rent for the rest of the year. hopefully subleasing will work out...or i could just not pay rent, get evicted, and then declare bankruptcy which would nullify that debt... |

i already have a guy interested in subleasing, so it's starting to look okay.
yeah, we could definately throw a party....i usually get my party fix with our weekly melodic sessions, but it gets kinda old going to the same place almost every friday night.
but we should do a one-time night perhaps at pizzeria uno's on state...the perfect size and location for a TAish crowd...i'll start initial trade negotiations. :) |
