Hello TOTAs,
Allegory and I are organizing a fundraiser for NextAid on August 17 (event listing here:Sustainable Groove )
NextAid is an LA based NGO which does development work with AIDS orphans in South Africa and has ties to the electronic music community.
In addition to the event, NextAid will be presenting at the XVI International AIDS conference on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, from 12:30pm – 2:00pm NextAid as part of the Coalition for Sustainable Africa is presenting an interactive session titled “Survive and Thrive: Sustainable Centers and Economic Enterprise for AIDS Orphans” at the Global Village. The presentation will cover recent development work that they've been involved with in South Africa.
They're looking for a few people to help with the set-up for the presentation, and simply for people to attend - the Conference Global Village is open to the public. If you're interested, or for more information, send me a pm or email [email protected].
Allegory and I are volunteering at the conference. For anyone interested in learning more about what people are doing to mitigate the pandemic, the global village will have NGO Booths, a video lounge, and lots of presentations.
