faggy dave dresden never responded to my messages. I was HOPING they would get me a video job/gig, but they never looked at it. :(
All I had were youtube videos, so the video quality is low, but the production/editing makes up for it. :D
ITS UNFINISHED, but I doubt i'll work on it anymore, unless G&D hire me
tell me what you think. |

Nice editing.
I don't know about the monochrome man, it looks good for the clips, but you might want to splash some color in there like you do right at the beginning. I guess you're trying to extend the monochrome thing from the G&D frontpage, but it works better with a more saturated color.
specifically i am speaking of those little text things and some of the graphic icons you have going on. that might make it a bit more finished.
you've also got some typography problems going on I think. I don't know - that's kind of a funky font because it can't decide if it wants to be arial, century gothic, or something else completely. Whatever though, that's workable - the problem is you've got a lot of tracking changes in the fonts that makes it seem less professional because it looks very accidental (and not in the serendipitous sense) For instance, look at the spacing on "josh gabriel" compared to "DJ(ableton)" right next to it. You're weakening the graphic strength and organizational hierarchy of those elements by creating two competing styles of fonts with different tracking, as well as condensing and expanding.
I think the video editing is the strength, but your graphic and typographic work seems to be detracting from it (in some cases) and that you basically just need to be more specific and deliberate with how you design elements to clarify and strengthen the work.
That's what I think anyways. |

thanks for the comments!
yeah, apparently I was too lazy and clumped the text into one layer instead of making seperate layers, and I ended up changing the tracking on the whole layer so that the small text could fit in sort of. It is easy to fix though |

| It was cool, I like the text, it makes it look computer-y but still cool. |

very nice man.
I have to ask, how did you end up doing the vector-outline stuff?
And what font is that opening text that 'gabriel & dresden' is in?
thanks
and good luck getting the video gig w/ them, it seems really well put together, especially for a demo. they might have contractual obligations to use their label's video guy though. *shrug* |
