ok guys, Dad just forwarded an email from work about new UK government regulations when boarding planes to UK and operated by British airways:
- no hand luggage is allowed to be taken in
- no handbags
- laptops, mp3 players and other electronic devices have been packed into the main luggage
- glasses allowed WITHOUT their cases
- wallets and pocket sized purses are allowed
- medicine has to be shown at boarding, and you may be asked to taste it in front of boarding officials
good luck to everyone flying today! |

Toronto Pearson Update on Security Changes
Date of Release: Aug 10, 2006
Responding to the alleged terrorist threats in the United Kingdom, the Government of Canada has implemented enhanced aviation security measures at Toronto Pearson and at all airports across Canada.
The following security measures have been put in place by the federal government until further notice:
- Effective immediately, for all flights to and from the United Kingdom and the United States, liquids or gels in containers of any size are not permitted to be brought onboard by passengers; this includes liquids or gels in carry-on baggage;
- Effective immediately all flights, including Canadian domestic flights, liquids or gels in containers of any size are not permitted to be brought onboard by passengers; this includes liquids or gels in carry-on baggage.
- Liquids or gels in containers of any size include: all beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. Passengers should pack liquids or gels in checked baggage.
Passengers may bring aboard baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is travelling. Prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket, insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines are allowed.
The Government of Canada advises all air travellers to keep these measures in mind when preparing for a flight, and to contact their carrier regarding any possible delays.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority continues to work closely with the Federal Government to minimize disruptions to the travelling public.

it is a pain in the ass but has to be done to protect everyone.
i mean, not any sort of liquid anywhere on you. not even shampoo or anything like that.
at last, my lack of purse would be a good thing. just pocketbook wallet for me. |
