Ibiza trip cancelled

Well, as of this morning we have decided not to go to Europe. Did anyone else see the news? My travel agent contacted me first thing this morning advising us to delay our trip. So we have decided to go next year. But we're going to Hawaii instead in a month. Just can't take the chance right now. Anybody else going to Europe or supposed to be going to Europe?

that sucks man. I guess I can understand why they'd put out a travel advisory, but you're going to the far west of Western Europe. As long as you avoid political rallies and protests you should be fine, other than just the normal Europe shenanigans/pickpockets etc that go on all the time anyway. I've been to Europe several times since the late unpleasantness (Afghanistan/Iraq) has been going on, and even had to travel in military uniform (but entirely, and obviously, unarmed) for part of the time, and I didn't notice anything particularly different from when I'd been there before.
That sucks, but I hope your trip to Hawaii makes up for it. |

Well, part of the problem is that we would be flying into London (gatwick) and then frankfurt, where they are looking for more of these terrorists. I have flown since then too. But not when the alert is this high. I figure why chance it right now when I have other options and we can go any other time we want. Better safe than sorry right? |

That completely sucks Jonas, i feel ya. Dude its never gonna stop isn't it, just keeps getting worse and worse. "Liquid Explosives?" That means you wouldn't be able to get a drink into a freakin plane....

I say we all get together and charter a flight and a hotel for next year and we won't have to worry about any of this. Well, except for Dave since he is a proud warrior of the gay rights faction of Al Qaeda. |

| Dude i woulda just gone, Gatwick is one of if not the safest airport. Frankfurt not too sure about since ive never been. I would trust my life to brit airport/military police. the only thing i'd worry about is being interrogated since im a hairy mexican. :toothless |

Well, Frankfurt is always one of the primary targets since it is such a huge freakin' airport. This really has shaken my wife up quite bit too. So, with that, I'll just wait for the dust to settle and try again next year. |

| meh to each his own, i have a wierd view on life/death so that kinda explains me. and edit, i was thinkin of Heathrow airport, but been to both and both are secure as . imho Newark is the weirdest non-safe feeling airport evar. |
