For modern trance you should listen some internet radios like Etn.fm or get some compilation albums like Trancemaster 5000, 5001, 5002...

Btw what program do u use?

The musical part sounds pro but, producing doesn't. With more practise and exploring you'll become better and better...

ahh... i hear superwave in this clip :D
hehehe... btw, nice work there...
Corteoz
Considering this being your first song it's really really good.
Guessing you're using FL Studio. ;)

Just keep on making lots of music. Try making good melodies and arrangements for your first songs, then start focusing a little on quality. If you start out wanting to make tunes that sounds like the ones on Trancemaster 500X, you'll end up in an asylum before you're done. Making a overall good production takes many years to learn. Give it time. Making music is a really good hobby, just keep at it. For better and worse.

Welcome to TA, and welcome to music production. :)

a fat, well compressed kick and some spastic hi hat work (perhaps pan them back and forth and whack a little bit of delay on the open hi hats and snare)

atm its just very basic and...how can i put this... 2 dimentional, i can see straight through it

most u probably laugh at what i said judging from some of my tracks but they are meant for fun and not serious at all (im better at creating long ass supersaw breakdowns anyway)

Thumbs up from me, other than giving the bass more of a kick I like what I am hearing , keep it up :D

I recently realised I've been pushing my self way to hard on the quality the past year. I'm cured now! I think... :nervous:

@erq: This forum is a great resource for production techniques. Just search the forum for various keywords. Also check out the pinned threads. Mr.Mystery has a great post on good percussion. If you can't find what you are looking for using the search or looking in the pinned threads, just ask. I'm usually take the time to answer if it's something I know. :)

i like the breakdown melody

the overall sound of the track is weak, need to phatten it up. also, i know it's just a demo but there is no concrete structure. drum sounds are lacking as well....good starting point tho.:)

Congrats! :) This is gonna be the best "my first trance song" I've heard. Good job.

Tips:
* Increase the kick volume more. Maybe as much as 10%.
* Lower the clap 5% or so.
* Lower that "glitter" sound from 00:30 to 00:50.
* Lower the main lead that enters at 00:41.

Thanks guys.

-LichtSpeed- : thanks! now im up to date =]. Wow, Im amazed at how unique trance music has gotten since I last listened to it. Just keeps gettin better and better.

Corteoz: thanks, fixed that glitter and lead, and upped the kick.

BTW, Im using FL studio

A little practice with eq as Corteoz mentioned and you should see good results.

Try and cut rather than boost as the clap and hats seem a bit harsh to the ear.

Practice, practice, and then more practice.
