I'm loving it. It's part of my first setup w/ 2 800 mk2s and it's perfect. PM me if you want more details. |

Sorry for sounding like an idiot, but is unbalanced a good thing, or a bad thing? lol.
Thanks for your info and help |
i dont think ive seen a dj mixer with balanced outputs. doesnt make much sense since RCAs are unbalanced, so your inputs are all unbalanced (unless of course you are running digital coax or optical).
to answer your question you would go from the master output on your mixer to whatever amp or monitor you buy. simple adapters are all that is needed. |

.. never seen balanced? don't know what for??
... live club applications?.... pro-grade amplifiers require balanced inputs for best transfer of signal.
mixers that have balanced outs...
Denon, Allen&Heath, Ecler, Pioneer, Urei, Rane, etc.
Balanced outs on a DJ mixer are usually convenience for hooking up to balanced input amps, EQs, compressors, etc. The other reason would be for any microphones hooked up to the mixer (which use balanced lines too). |

To hook up monitors, you will need either XLR to 2-RCA adapters, or 1/4" to 2-RCA adapters.
The only advantage of a balanced connection is the ability to run longer cable. This isn't an issue for monitors, as you keep them close to you.
I really am shocked that the DJM-400 doesn't have balanced outs, though. It's pretty standard. |

Foolish Mortal!!!
u see those two MAster OUtputs, 1 and 2?
WEll the one with the stereo/mono switch is for your monitors. Sometimes DJs like to put the monitors on mono. |

If you've got the X1500, hen you can use the balanced outputs if you want.... then you'd need XLR to whatever the monitors will take. You don't get sound degradation./interference on audio lines unless you have a load of power cables near them or the run of the line is longer than about 6 meters. |
