They'll pretty much eat anything. Peanut butter works pretty well though. I've caught several mice that way.

all u need is a pail of water (half full) a wooden stick and some peanut butter
dip the stick in peanut butter and lean it against a half full bucket of water so the peanut butter is hovering over the water.
mice love peanut butter
here is the play by play
mouse smells peanut butter, starts developing the crack addict twitch
mouse sees peanut butter on stick
mouse runs up stick to get peanut butter
stick and mouse tip into bucket
mouse cant swim for too too long
mouse drowns (and or gets eaten by the piranah in the bucket)
the other good one is powdered potatoes and water. take two aluminum pie plates fill one with powdered potatoes, and the second with water. place side by side.... mouse eats potatoes, gets thirsty, drinks water, potatoes hydrate, mouse blows up
it works real well |

wtf is powdered potatoes??
i went to prague and bought 2 mouse traps, they havent worked thus far we dont have peanut butter so i used nutella instead :D |

never tested hazle-nut spread...... but it might work
powdered potatoes are basically dehydrated mashed potatoes (really popular back in the 50's)
they quadruple in size when they are mixed with water..... |
