Some turntable questions

I've heard that many people buy turntables and cd decks.
Is it necessary to buy two turntables and TWO cd decks, or just the one?
Afterall, isn't the point of the cd deck just as backup or to play a track you can't find on vinyl or whatever?
I only ask I currently I have one CDJ100 sittin on its own (I got it from eBay) and am wondering whether to get another and a mixer straight away, or save up for turntables and just keep the one cd deck.
Also, does anyone have any comments on the Numark Pro TT-2?
It seems as good as the Technics 1200s/1210s if not even better and it's quite a bit cheaper. What's the deal here?

Oh one last thing. Is there any way to stop the Technics 1200s from reverting back to 33rpm every time you switch it back on. It's annoying. |

| nothing matches the quality and design of a technic 1200, especially numark. Numark has a bad rep for turntable design...ive played on many a numark and they are all crap compared to m3ds by technic. Dont buy ty tables! Its a waste of money. Save up and buy the technics...you will notice a difference! |

| hey evil bastard, from what i hear... technics are very durable ... thats why so many people get em.... i mean.. they can last you for years and years before you have to think about replacing anything... and thats what makes the difference in the price range... but im also not a believer that technics are the only TT's that are good out there... i think numark tt2 are alright.. so are the gemini pt2400 and pt2410's.... and they are pretty cheap in price... if u look carefully u can find numark TT2's for 225 U.S! thats pretty cheap for tables |

| Alternatively, you can work your way round with inferior decks at home, get used to the , then upgrade to Techs. People say the more you train with lousy decks, the better you're eventually gonna get. :conf: |

You should try out the Citronic PD-2 (TT)(if money is an issue)!!
It's half the price of a Technics, i-dj reviewd and it got 4 stars out of 5 posible!But if money is not an issue, then you should go for the technics....;) |

Thanks for the comments guys, but can anyone answer my other question?
Is there any point in having two CD players and two turntables? Do most people have two turntables and one cd player?
Also, what is the point of the cd player when you have turntables? Is it for back-up if a turntable messes up, or to play a track you haven't got on vinyl, or what is the reason???
Trancegeek, I just think it doesn't make sense. Surely it couldn't be that hard for it to revert to the rpm you left it at? If you stop the table at 45rpm chances are when you start it again you want 45rpm, right? I would have thought Technics would have considered this. Do other turntables do this too?

techs only revert to 33rpm when you turn the tables power off, not when you press the stop button
how often during a set do you turn the power of the table off? |

I've only tried the 1200s once (at HMV) and when I hit stop and start again it reverted back to 33 each time.
PS, I really need an answer to the other Q as well.

I think you could go either way. Personally I'd get 1 CDJ instead of 2 because I prefer to use vinyls over CDs. The touch of vinyl feels so much better than playing with controls over a CD. But sometimes there are remixes on CD that are not available on vinyl. So then I would think that's when you'd want to use a CD table.
The only feasible reason I can see for getting 2 cd tables is so that you can burn mp3s onto the CDs and spin like that. You can download full vinyl rips and stuff, but you're missin out on the whole experience of DJing if you rely on CD imo. 2 tts + 1 CD table is the way to go if you gonna DJ @ a party for a long time :eyes: |

Well I have one CDJ100 sitting on its own lol.
I've heard that short of paying over $500, the CDJ100 is the best to go with. I'll have to see when I hook it up and play around with it first (only just got it).
I think I'll just save up for technics. What's the difference between 1200s and 1210s, cos they cost the same :conf: |
