Cologne and perfume "Stretching"

How many people have been told that if you rub your wrists together to spread the scent, it will "stretch" the scent molecules.
About 6-7 sales people have told this to me and my usual sardonic answer is "From my knowledge of nuclear forces thats probably impossible" to which they rarely reply.

i think the idea is that rubbing it brings out the scent more because you are activating the chemicals with pressure or something right?
i dunno...
i like to spray my cologne in the air...and spin through it so it spreads out and isn't too strong hehehe |

| I put a dab on the neck, and a dab on the wrist, and rub both wrists together. seems to do the trick. |

I spray the crotch of my pants.
I spray my neck twice when I am already wearing my shirt/tshirt.
I then spray it in the air, and walk through it as I leave my room to go out. |

the custom of putting your cologne or perfume on your wrists is so that it is on your pulse points, same with your neck just below your ears, also recommended is your stomach. These areas are thought to naturally warm up the scent you are wearing.
Also it is best to apply your cologne or perfume right after you get out of the shower while your pores are open so that your skin absorbs the scent, later as the day goes on your skin will "release" the scent (same thing applies to body lotion to better moisturize your skin). It's also recommended to layer your cologne if it comes with a shower gel and body lotion, to use those all together. |
