Best Sonic Soundtrack?

Big fan of the music from the Mega Drive games and was recently reminded of it by the Sonic Collection on PS2, which brings me to ask this:
Which Sonic the Hedgehog game has the best soundtrack?
Mine has to be Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Mystic Caves both 1 and 2 player tracks being the best.
Chemical Plant
Aquatic Ruins
Oil Ocean
Sonic 1
Marble
Scrap Brain
Sonic 3 was pretty decent as well.
Chrome Gadget on 2 player was cool.

i liked all the music from the sonic series
sonic 2 was my favorite though and yes luke terrys rework of chemical zone is a ing winner |

yeah that remix is insane
i too prefer sonic 2's soundtrack,
but nothing beats the original sonic for the sheer nostalgia
i remember playing sonic 2 and making my brother play as tails and go ahead of me straight into danger so i wouldn't die |

Sonic 3's Carnival Night always got stuck in my head for days on end. ;)
Agreed on Mystic Cave.
Sonic 2 was awesome.... I used to beat it daily as a kid. :) On my "Genesis" here in the states. |

It's all good.
Aquatic Ruins is great as hell, Metropolis too and the Chemical Zone track. Soooo good! |

| well, i like Star Light Zone from Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 - Ice Cap Zone the OC Remix is awesome ... well another from other game that i like is a trully New Age piece is Super Mario 64 - Jolly Roger Bay theme :eyes: |
