You need to look into the history of cinematography and realize why so much of it has and still is coming out of Hollywood.
Secondly you need to realize it's not Hollywoods fault for making so many movies, it's other countries and peoples fault for not making more themselves.
The culture of film has also evolved and it's sensation and creative thought it generates is not something the common man seeks out today. People today want special effects and crap and not some grandiose filming.
Who has the most money for special effects? Hollywood!
Who complains the most? People who go see their movies. What a bunch of hypocrites.
I have heard too many people talking about so called colonialism by way of cinema.
Stop feeling so oppressed and actually do something about it!
Movies can also be a great motor for cultural change and growing political awareness; to my knowledge almost any movie in the world allows their citizens to film as they wish ( there are expections ).
Take Iran which some people view as one of the worst countries in the world, they have a very important movie culture constituted of local movies! |
