6. You should stop playing American "football". There is only one kind of football. What you refer to as American "football" is not a very good game. |
I STRONGLY disagree. |

Though the US may currently lack a respectable political scene, Don't presume that we have more idiots per capita than most other countries, or that we lack morals/judgement as a whole. I still have faith that, given time and the realization that we will not always succede, Americans will come around. |
eh, outside of the major cities there are a whole lot of people who take their easy lifestyle for granted. I <3 small town america :toothless |

As I understand it, the cost to resign roads and retool industry was thought to be too high to warrent the conversion. |

The problem with this is that it refers only to americans as portrayed by the media. And the european media at that. If you were to actually talk to a true sampling of americans, you would realiZe that we, in general, are not the ignorant, selfish, fat, greedy, egocentric bastards that the world loves to portray us as. The americans you are referring to are the typical rich, ignorant, l.a. americans who listen to our media and believe everything they are fed. The majority of us DO think for ourselves and acklowledge how full of crap our media and government really are. On that same note, to all americans, here is a news flash: We are not the greatest country in the world, and i dont care how many times our government tries to tell us that. With that in mind, neither is Britain. Sorry to burst your bubble. So next time you attempt to belittle an entire country, first know the people you are talking about. Then realiZe that your own government doesn't seem to mind having us as an ally. And finally, realiZe that if you did attempt to take us back, we have over 50% of the worlds nukes and we could blow you and all your friends off the face of the planet without thinking twice about it. Look what happened to iraq, and they didn't even do anything directly to us. Thank you. |
i disagree. in general most americans arent all that bad, but most are pretty clueless to things beyond their borders, tho most dont come right out and say it, those who do, i have a hoot with. for instance i was talking to this college kid at the sears tower this weekend while i was in chicago (great city btw) so upon finding out i was canadian, first question, "so whats the culture like up there? i bet its cold". keep in mind that this kid was in political science at college..... not a good start to a budding career in international affiars.....
i then proceeded to explain to him the dynamics of the canadian ethno political system.... the roaming bands of nomatic eskimos that inhabit the region of muskoka, the french canadians that have dug a 3000 mile trench to seperate themselves from the rest of canada and paddle back to france like the early voyagers, the militant asian resistance that has laid siege to the province of vancouver, and how we recently re named our dollar to the "moose"
i usually meet at least one complete idiot anywhere i go in the states, but ill meet dozens of people that genereally have no clue about anything to do with their northern neighboors and largest trading partner. ive met lots of americans who are very intelligent people but i find that most of them unless they ahve been to canada before no little about it. We get engineers from dearborn comming up to the plant here in london ontario all the time wearing winter coats in july.... ITS HOTTER HERE THAN IN DETROIT USUALLY |

I reckon this is a common feeling.
I am Brazilian, for example, and I really don't understand the way the country is shown abroad. I mean, I've never been to the Amazon in my whole life, yet the media seems to believe we all live in a rainforest :p |
How much is a brazillion? That sounds like a lot. |
