Question about a certain type of synths and how to produce them.

So I was listening to Dj-Doboy's new Elements(Hydrogen) mix and I am digging it a lot. Download Link

One unique feature about this mix is that most of the synths used in the tracks have a deep bass like sound that really overwhelms the whole track, really nice stuff.

Using highly bass sensitive pair of headphones helps a lot appreciate the beauty of the synths used.

To be more specific

- First one starts at : 1:27
- Second one starts at : 9:25
- Third one starts at : 12:28
- Fourth one starts at : 23:32

and many more but you guys get the idea.

I am using a Korg Electribe EMX-1 and was experimenting for a while today but no luck still.

What would you guys suggest I try to get similar results ?

These bass sounds in themselves are totaly different from eachother, but all the bass you mentioned have a common point : long notes played, sound compressed, sidechain and a wide stereo spread that gives the illusion that the bass surounds the mix. You can use a chorus and more subtle reverb, delay..

The first two sound like a filtered PWM bass with a stereo unison. The third sounds like a standard bass preset with a stereo chorus. Fourth, is also like a filtered PWM bass with a stereo chorus. All seem to have a sidechain compression of some sort.

Does that help at all?
