Also, freelance webdesign is a very competative field, so unless you have something that others dont, it will be pretty hard to bring in some dough.
I used to do freelance work, but the workload (if you get any) adds up, and its tough to keep up with it. For starters though, its a popular choice. Get an ad-based host, a .tk domain, and excessive use of filters in Photoshop, and voila, you've got a freelance web designer; but hey... you gotta start somewhere :/
