Hey guys, Ive just ordered:

2 x pioneer cdj 800's
2 x technics 1210mk2's
Pair of Alesis M1 Active 520 Powered Studio Monitors

Im looking for a solid 4 channel mixer with more sound quality than effects as i dont mind not having effects as long as theres output to connect seperate divices later.

Im looking to spend up to £600 on a decent mixer.

I have done alot of research on mixers online and ive found a mix bag of results as to which one is best.

These are the mixers i have been looking at so far:

djm 600
ecler nuo 5
denon dnx 1500
a+h zone 62

Which would you recommend and why?

Thanx

Jonny

Edit: Ive just been offered a Numark 5000FX for £329. Is that a good offer and as far as build quality how does this mixer compare with the others listed ?

ugh! dont go for that Numark....please! It's an OK mixer for bedroom DJ'ing, but since you seem like you want to "upgrade" and dont wanna buy a mixer for a while, stick to either the NUO4/5 or the XONE:62. Both of those are top notch (I'd personally recommend the NUO5...its a fun mixer).

The DJM-600 is OK, but old and dated...and the Denon is OK...but is lower end than the Ecler and A&H

in short...

djm 600: club standard but slowly dying off due to relatively poor sound quality and cheap effects.
ecler nuo 5: never usedit before, but i've never heard anything but praise about nuo mixers.
denon dnx 1500: solid mixer, better sound quality and effects than the djm600, but a little too digital for me.
a+h zone 62: best sound quality out of the above, but no effects (minus the filter unit).

i'd go for the xone62. ;)

xone 62 ftw :)

i love the tube amp feel, a very solid mixer

i've heard the nuo 5 is great too though

bastard for being able to afford good mixers!

instead of a 62, why not go Nuo 4 with an EFX Unit? most likely an EFX 500, but you could spend a bit more and go for the 1000, otherwise, sure, go for the A&H Xone 62, but again, save a bit more and the 92 is there.

lol 1 months pay did it for me. I guess its cause i work for Cisco :)

and yea i looked at the xone 92 aswell but its a bit overkill for what i need atm.

Im prob gona grab a nuo 5 as i dont need the midi on the 4 and the 5 looks that wee bit better too.

thanx for the advise so far

well, see, the reason why i think the Nuo 4 is a good decision is simply because you can one day give PCDJ'ing a shot, and wont need to further upgrade if you dont like it, you still have a kick ass 4 channel mixer, or give PC DJ'ing a shot, have built in effects in Traktor that you can apply to whatever tracks you play through channels 2 or 3, PLUS an additional 4 channels...you now basically have the equivalent of a 6 channel club installation right there, with SOOO Many Choices as to how you're set is gonna go and you can get really damn creative with it. only problem is, no effects on the channels other than the midi controlled ones...heres where i would throw an EFX 1000 to it, connects through the send/receive and your all set.

just my 2 cents, although the Nuo 5 is probably an EXCELLENT Mixer with effects and all, built in effects just dont do it for me. personal preference i guess. :conf:

Zone or Nuo, your choice.

Xone:62.

Actually, I would also recommend the 92, as it's an extremely worthwhile upgrade over the 62, but, if it's not in your budget, then it's not. I think it's worth saving for, though.
