The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.
An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.
But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.
Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.
A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.

I heard about this last night...
I'm kind of sadden that this wasn't discovered earlier and that the parents were in this "cloud of suspicion" all this time :(
I hope justice will be brought to this individual or whoever did this...for Jon's and the Benet Family's sake... |

saw the vid clips on Newsworld this morning...that dude is indeed creepy :nervous:
a couple of thoughts on the whole thing...
- a tragic death is a tragic death...but is anyone else concerned at the criteria used to determine why *this* case deserved to have so much money poured into it and for so long? I imagine that poor (economically poor) parents who've seen their kid's death remain unsolved with no active work being done must be extremely upset and angry by the manpower and resources that are allocated to high profile cases like this one and not their own...she was white, rich and looked good on camera...some minority kid living in the ghetto, gunned down by a dealer, isn't as great a photo op, I suppose?
- the whole pageant (sp?) industry in the U.S. absolutely sickens me. To see parents put their 5-6 year old daughter in make up and adult clothing and have her *literally* shake her ass up on a stage is disturbing at best. I find that sexualizing a young child in this manner is disgusting and these parents need to stop living through their kids this way...it's pathetic. It's bad enough the media teaches girls that they should use their sexuality to 'get ahead'...it's worse to see parents instill this idea in their head from kindergarten. (I'm sure someone who participated in pageants is going to flame me now, lol, but that's my opinion).
you want to instill confidence and success in your kid...put them in a team sport or martial art...or take an active interest in their education...they'll learn discipline, respect and co-operation instead of how to shake their ass, blow kisses and smile for the camera.
on a positive note (assuming this guy did in fact commit the crime...and kudos to the aunt for reiterating that he's innocent until proven otherwise), I'm glad that there is potential closure coming for the family and friends after all pf this time. |

this just seems so damn weird to me.
why now?
why so long after?
his admission video is just so strange. "no comment" to how he was connected to the Ramsey family and how he got into the basement.
strange. |
