if you were in the restaurant business then i'd suggest bartending b/c depending where you're working you can make way more than 12/hr and you don't need many shifts a week to be making good moneys. only thing is you need smart serve which you prolly already have and it would be helpful to take a course in it. and like graham said... connections connections connections! gl tho! |
you really think so eh?
I thought bartenders had longer shifts. At one point I did consider becoming one... thanks for the suggestion though. I do have my smart serve. yeah it is ALWAYS ABOUT CONNECTIONS! fack, I thought it would be different - but no. always come down to that crap.
Evil_cookie - you are totally right - I think I maybe have to finally scarifice whatever little social life i had to begin with. lame. |

well when i do days i work 8 hour shifts... nights are usually 6-7 hours and you tend to make more. but it depends what you're aiming for. w/ bartending you could work 2 days a weeks in a fast paced club and make 5 or 6 hundred easy... i work in a slower paced place but i take care of the whole floor. i make less than i would be making in a club but i enjoy it cuz i get to kno my customers... ranting lol. but yea try it out if you can moneys good ppl are generally good. |

it's perfectly do-able... i did it for most of uni. i don't know about all types of businesses out there, but my company offered flexibility for people who were in school such that their working hours were managed around their class time.
feel free to let me know if you're still looking and i can let you know if i hear of any hirings here.

Look ON campus. I've worked at the University Bookstore for 3 years now. It pays well, flexible hours...they understand your school schedule and work load. There's lots of other places to work on campus as well. |

did you start out as a barback first?
