however, the fact that we are talking about buttsex, makes it inherently good to watch, but the vivid depiction of rape outweights the goodness of the scene making it hard to watch |

I haven't read any replies yet, so this is still orignal from me.
But that scene where Bambies mother dies.... kills me.
I await the repost? |

In Grizzly Man, when Werner Herzog is listening to the audio of Timothy Treadwell get killed by the bear. |
that was probably the worst of anything i've seen, almost had to leave the room, just left me far too uncomfortable
as for requiem for a dream, i'm a huge fan. i've watched it too many times to count. one of my favorite movies of all time |

Probably against my better judgement, I'm gonna check that movie out. |

I dunno...as much as I absolutely loathe it, I suppose it's something probably worth seeing once, just for the fact that everyone else on the planet has, and, that way, you can have an opinion about it. Nevertheless, as I said before, it's the most nauseous movie I've ever seen (not even The Broken Movie beats it, IMO), and I don't plan on seeing it again. Let us know what you think. |

^ basically why I didn't like it
I like movies that entertain me in some way. That might be with over-the-top action, by a script filled with witty dialogue, or through a cleverly crafted plot line that comes to a satisfying resolution, or some other variation or combination of those elements.
At the end of Requiem for a Dream, I just felt bad. I've loved some movies without happy endings (not many people would say they smiled @ the end of American Beauty), but there's some sense that the bad was balanced out in some way. In Requiem, it's just bad event 1, bad event 2, bad event 3, depressing sacrifice 4, and on and on...no hope, no laughter, no inspiration. It just beats you over the head with the tales of the very most pathetic (in the 'helpless' sense of the word) and unfortunate characters anyone could ever create. |
