and wtf at dance4life and orange theme
worst tracks of the set...:haha:
sunhump is the winner in this |

| sunhump was the best track in the entire set, overall it was a good short set, but if comparing it to the other three sets played on that essential mix fatboy slim's was the best. |

Agreed. I hear nothing but a bunch of the same house music every other dj is spinning aside from a few techy tunes on here (Lethal Industry obviously not house). |

house :conf:
don't know what set you listened to. two maybe three tracks can be considered house but all the tracks are clearly trance inspired.
personally it seems to me tiesto is the only of the big names that has stayed true to his passion. sure he's released some poppy tracks but imo they are quality and stay true to his style.
he's doing it for the love. plain and simple. unlike some other clowns i could mention *cought*armin*cough*oakey*
anyway i just tend to feel tiesto's stuff and i think this set shows his true form. it's inspired me in many ways. i've been listening to trance for many years now and tiesto is the only big name that really hasn't let me down like the others. Blank and Jones, Armin, Oakey, all jokes. PvD and Ferry are ok but I was never into their style as much. I owe tiesto a lot for what he has done for me in terms of pure enjoyment and inspiration and i hope in some way he realizes that.
/cheesy rant
anyway it's funny how the people are saying he's ripping off Faithless with the Mazi Jazz track when Mazi Jazz is doing the vocals. :haha:
you may not like the tune but it's not a rippoff.
btw thanks for the cue beefy k. :) |

i wouldn't say armin has sold out any more than tiesto. i love tiesto, but i would put him closer to oakey than armin on the road to selling out. armin is far from where oakey has fallen and comparing the tiesto and armin shows i've gone to this year armin seemed more like he was there for the love of the music. that is my rant
...where do you even find trance around pdx? there was a place near burnside but it closed down |

I can agree with a lot of that, he's always been more about the energy/excitement/wow factor levels than technical greatness. |

| I'm a big Tiesto fan, even if the bulk of TA dislikes him. However, I can honestly say that this particular set does nothing for me. Keep in mind though that I'm admittedly a sucker for epic and melodic "fluff" that many people hate. ;) But keep posting links to those live sets! |

| Saying Armin doesn't dj for the love of the music just goes to prove how much someone can really hate for really no reason at all. It's sad, really. |

well, when i see his blatant cash-in's like Serenty which was an obvious rip-off. and his Armin Only event which was an embarrassment i tend to think low of him. he may still do it for the love, i don't know. all i know is from his lackluster releases and his blatant grasping for the top spot turns my stomach a bit.
i realize tiesto has had more than armin's share of 'stunts', but from my vantage point his 'events' have been more in the way of pushing the envelope; doing what's never been done before. despite the outcome, i respect that.
plus both shows i saw of his were . they started out pretty energetic and entertaining, but then one fluffy, dreamy epic after another. get's borring.

true oakey is in a league of his own in terms of . armin is no-where near oakey. but it's just my view-point that armin isn't really in it for the passion. or at least his contributions don't do it for me. i'm the opposite when it comes to the shows i've been to. could be chance, could be taste.

The Ohm, The Crystal Ballroom, The Level are good joints. I used to live in Seattle so I go up there more often for good shows. The Element, Premiere, Last Supper Club, Medusa (I think they changed the name), etc. are good clubs up there. |
