Hey all

I Was wondering how can i Split my Hardrive into 2 Partitions from 1.

Iv Used Partition Magic Pro software but when i splitted the harddrive i was missing a few GBs...

is there a reliable way to do it through Windows XP (diskmgmt.msc , Disk Managment) or other software...even on Partition Magic Pro?

Also , which of NTFS or FAT32 are the best Settings for Production?

:) Thanks

y0 Maor!
I've used Partition Magic for this purpose and it worked out fine for me! And I would recommend you go for NTFS!

Maybe these articles can help you a bit:

Other than that, maybe just buy a second HD? Dirt cheap nowadays. That way you can split files over multiple drives i.e. HD1 program files etc. and HD2 other stuff like samples, backups...
Just some ideas.

No Left Turn
That's really weird that Partition Magic is screwy. I use it and it's worked perfectly fine for me.

As far as splitting the drives, FAT32 would be better since it allows faster access to all your files. I would recommend getting the 2nd hard drive though. It doesn't really make sense to partition a single drive for production purposes since the drive is still working the double load. The 2nd drive will lighten the work load immensely and you will have a more stable running system.

Hope this helps!
