What's the point of cellphone videos?

Every single thing recorded is sloppy.
Seriously, what is the point of recording a music event with a cellphone? The audio is a pain to the ears and the image quality is poor. And chances are you won't even record a whole transition at a club with the memory some cellphones have.
And then kids go and post those awesome videos on youtube and sites of that sort. What's the point? |

Well, my friend is a really good piano player. One time I was ed up. Really messed up. He started playing some crazy western-style saloon music. I started running around his house. And they recorded it on a phone. My friend still plays it and we all laugh. |

What I don't understand is why people would go and buy such a bad product and at such high price. Why not just a phone to call and a camera to record?

it was ty, but who cares? the video recording is for spur of the moment like that, and not for oscar-winning movies. |

How very true. Get them the technology that they thing upper classes will have and you have a lower class hit.
I see no point in it either. quality, low res and tiny. I have a DV cam for video anyway |

But aren't camera phones pretty much the standard nowdays?
Not sure how things are in the States right now but I know in France they are the standard for even the cheapest models.
My dad bought a new cell phone 2 months ago for about 50 bucks and it does video and digicam ( and that was the actual price of the thing not some special new subscription/renewal or subscriber points deal with his cellular operator ). |
