I don't know why this is so hard for people to figure out. Nothing angers me more than a semi truck in the right lane and a friggin' Buick Century in the left lane taking 84 years to pass him. Meanwhile, there is a 2 mile long line of cars behind him all wanting to go faster. And you just know that the dude driving the Century is going "Well, by God, I'm going 55....I just don't know what their hurry is. Jeepers!".

My hurry is that I'm trying to get out of the country as fast as I can because I just murdered a Buick Century driver.

The parkway speed limit is 85+ ;)

I almost died on it one time. There was a truck, and I was riding his ass. and a deer comes out of NOWHERE! the truck driver must had strong feet because his brakes locked up real hard. there was skid marks for at least a couple hundred feet. I swirved out of the way just in time. Scary moment, sir.

On 195, not the parkway. I own that road.

It's s like you that deserve to die. Not only do you jeopardize your own life, but you also jeopardize the life of everyone else on the road. Why? You don't get anywhere any faster doing that. Every time I see some pull that in traffic, they always end up at the same traffic light. Basically what I'm trying to say here is: Die in a fire .

jeez. so harsh. i said i exaggerated. its not really my driving endangering everyone else's lives on the road. its the old or the oblivious like Ygrene said that sits in the slow lane making large groups of people slow down for them and in some cases, go around them. whats really annoying is that same driver with plenty of room to move over and let you pass, but they must have missed that part of driving ethics because they just sit in the left lane like they're glued to it.

I'm not the only person who drives like a mad man. there are always big lines of people who drive like me and i intend in sitting right in the middle of those lines to help eliminate the chances that i wont get pulled over. maybe you have all the time in the world to sit on the freeway in heavy traffic but considering how much time I spend in my car, I'd prefer to get wherever I need to go as fast as I can without excessive speeding so that I can make valuable use of said time. so the moral of the story is, off and drive how you wanna drive but get the hell out of the way when I catch up in your rear view mirror because I dont have time to around. :p

nothing here is past 65. on the 2 lane expressway in chicago you can do 20 or 25 over and never see flashing lights

I have decided that in california the driving lanes have switched. Since everyone migrates to the very left lane (even when no one is on the highway), the right lanes are the passing lanes and the left is the slow cruising lane.

i believe i read somewhere that illinois has the highest percentage of speeders in the entire country. it makes sense, because like d-res mentioned, pretty much everyone in chicagoland drives 25-30 over the speed limit (55), and yet no sirens are heard.

oh, and i flawlessly passed both my written and driving portions of the test.

i just remember one part of the test where the instructor was like "ok, now do the procedure you would need to do to park on a downhill slope".

im sure you guys know...you are supposed to put your car in neutral and let your car roll into the curb, right? thing is, HE ASKED ME TO DO THIS ON A COMPLETELY FLAT ROAD. so i was just sitting there, with my car in neutral. then hes like "what are you doing". im like "theres no hill". hes like "then go in reverse!".

thats not the downhill parking procedure you dumb . but i aced it so whatever.

Depends on northern or southern illinois. They are two different states (even different accents). Get on the inbound Dan Ryan at night, though, and you are correct...nobody goes under 80...and the lanes are too narrow...and it's filled with cabbies who drive like maniacs...If you have a friend in from the suburbs or anywhere else, let them drive on that for the first night...that'll give 'em a good scare. The cops don't even bother pulling people over on it 'cuz it's such a clusterfk

I had to do that but we didnt have to roll. we just park, pull the parking break up and turn our wheels whichever direction the slope requires. no rolling involved.

I remember taking drivers ed at my high school before they switched to simulators, lol. I think it was because of me. I mean I'm not a bad driver and all, it's just that I had a heavy foot. Needless to say, my teacher passed me. Perhaps he didn't want to go through the fright I put him through? Anyhow I'm still alive and kicking after hundreds of dollars in speeding tickets later.:nervous:
