stay away from varadero unless you want to party it up.. i've heard great things about cayo coco, if you're looking for a secluded getaway where you'll be spending all of your time in the resort (apparently it's a small island with beatiful beaches while the next closest town being 70km away)..

CUBA SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
The BEST way to spend ur vacation is to stay with a local friend...after visiting the country 3 times on my 4th and 5th visit i stayed with Cuban friends... i won't even lie its hard we had to get special permits and yeah looooooooogn story...but it ended up being so good that my girl and I went back!!!!!we got a package at a 3 star but left the resort and came back 6 days later oooops....
but these are the hotels i stayed at and HAD A BLAST
1st time- ARENAS BLANCAS...its a 4.5 star LOTSA fun!! family and young ppl's
2nd- TRYP PENINSULA VARADERO****amazing all around****
3rd- PARADISUS VARADERO***VERY NICE EVERYTHING...a lil dry and tons of old ppl but it was still fun....
4th & 5th time my friend and i bought packages at Arenas Doradas but stayed with our friends in the city of Camaguey and once in the city of Matanzas/Cardenas...CUBAN BLOCK PARTIES FTW!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks for all the replies guys..I'll definitely check these out. The hubby was saying he heard that up until December is hurricane season so the best time to go is December?! Has anyone heard the same thing...I'm being lazy here as you can tell. :)

They're rainy season is from June to November, so it is a bit risky with the weather...but I was there during the second week of August this year and it was about 35 degrees and sunny almost every day...we had one cloudy day where it rained for about 10 minutes in the morning.

can anyone suggest a good way to go if i'm only planning on visiting for say 5 days? most of the packages listed online are usually 6 nights and depart and return on fixed dates.
i'm hoping to find something that offers up more flexibility as far as when i can come and go and how long i can say.. suggestions?
i'd be going in November -ish
thanks all!
