Another big weekend at Cherry Beach

It seems like there are at least three parties going on... plus another free party on some other beach (unrelated)... last weekend in August and everyone is pushing it hard :) who's coming out?
There's info on my site for two of them in case it's not been circulated... |

It is my less than happy duty to inform you good people that our end of summer party will not be happening this weekend. It has come to our attention that there are two other parties at cherry beach this saturday, and in light of the situation between Toronto Island residents and the Docks nightclub we decided it would be best to put the party off to a weekend when it will not get shut down in the middle of the night. If you are unaware, the Docks nightclub feels that the noise complaints against it (putting its liquor licence at risk) are actually a result of the various parties that go on at Cherry Beach, and have been sending people to the beach to call the cops if the music gets too loud. It will be hard enough to avoid that with 3 soundsystems running, but when we have no control over the others volume, we'd pretty much definately get shut down. We obviously don't want that to happen, so because of that and a few other minor issues, we've chosen to delay the event. We're sorry for the confusion but we'd rather have our yearly beach party be a little later than have it be a let down, especially compared to the last two.
To make it up to you, we're going to try to make some additions to the lineup, and maybe throw in a few other surprises for you all.

| That's ing weak. I sent a long, well written letter to the AGCO and Mayor Miller on The Docks behalf. I don't see any difference in what The Islanders are doing to The Docks and what The Docks is doing to the Cherry Beach parties. :rolleyes: |
